Project description

Vyvial & Co were commissioned to design a new après-ski bar located at the base of one of Hakuba’s main quad lifts.

The venue serves as a lively après hub, combining a bar with a flexible live music and event space. A generous front deck, complete with seating and outdoor heaters, connects the interior with the mountain landscape — offering the perfect setting to unwind with drinks and live music after a day on the slopes.

The design takes cues from the golden era of Japan’s ski boom in the 1980s, with a bold yet simple material palette. Colours, textures, and geometric patterns nod to vintage ski culture while remaining fresh and contemporary.

As part of the project, we collaborated with local artists to create large-scale murals that energise the space and reflect the community spirit of Hakuba.

Vyvial & Co provided full interior design services for the project, from spatial planning and concept development through to detailing, finishes, and on-site coordination.
