Echoland Apartments

A boutique hotel in Echoland featuring 30 guest rooms, a central clubhouse, and a tranquil onsen.

Project description

Vyvial & Co. were commissioned to undertake a feasibility study exploring the development potential of a site in Echoland, Hakuba.

The concept proposes a boutique hotel catering to both domestic and international travellers. The scheme includes 30 guest rooms, arranged across three two-storey blocks, carefully located to preserve the natural landscape and enhance the guests experience.

The blocks are connected by a series of covered walkways leading to a central clubhouse—designed as the heart of the development. This two-storey timber-framed structure is clad in cedar.

The clubhouse houses the main amenities, including a gym, restaurant, boot room, and onsen on the ground floor. Above, an open-plan bar and lounge with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.

A key feature of the proposal is the onsen, conceived as a restorative retreat where guests can unwind after a day on the slopes.
