Shirokane Apartment, is a Japandi -inspired interior styled apartment in the heart of a residential area of Shirokane, Tokyo. Approached by a client that was settling into a bachelor apartment, the client requested a space that he can wind down and spent time in a comfortable living space. As rental properties in Japan disallow any architectural changes, the focus was solely on furniture selection and interior styling.

The existing living room is on the 12th floor and is roughly 26m2 with exceptional day light due its corner lot. On a clear day, the sun rise and sun set can be seen in the backdrop of mount Fuji. The client requested a tranquil and calming space that would encourage him to spend more time at home, becoming an oasis from the bustling city of Tokyo.

The result is an apartment that merges Japanese design principles with Scandinavian design, and to encourage an environment that inspires a lifestyle of mindfulness and solitude.
