Located in a quiet residential pocket of Shirokane, Tokyo, this 26 m² corner apartment on the 12th floor was designed for a bachelor client seeking a calming, comfortable living environment. With sweeping views of Mount Fuji and generous natural light, the brief focused on creating a tranquil space for rest and solitude — an urban retreat from the intensity of city life.
As rental properties in Japan typically prohibit architectural modifications, Vyvial & Co.'s approach centred entirely on interior styling, furniture selection, and FF&E procurement. The design merges the simplicity and restraint of Japanese design principles with the warmth and softness of Scandinavian sensibilities — delivering a Japandi-inspired interior that supports a lifestyle of mindfulness and ease.
Every element was carefully curated to enhance comfort, lightness, and emotional stillness — focusing on texture, proportion, and natural materiality to elevate the everyday experience of the home.
